Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs had a bye in Week 5, so there’s naturally plenty of excitement surrounding their return to action in Week 6.
The Chiefs will play the Los Angeles Chargers at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday. Kansas City remains undefeated, and the team is expected to extend that run against a team that has yet to win this season.
Mahomes has been sensational for the Chiefs, having already tallied 1,037 passing yards and nine touchdowns. He has also scored one touchdown on the ground.
Meanwhile, running back Kenneth Walker III has been equally impressive. He has already recorded 537 rushing yards and four touchdowns, along with two receiving touchdowns.
Aside from Mahomes and Walker’s performances and the Chiefs’ return, however, there’s much more to look forward to in the contest.

On Friday, Arrowhead Stadium’s official social media account announced the game-day entertainment for the Chiefs-Chargers game.
To kick off the event, pop singer Kelsie Watts will sing the U.S. national anthem. Watts is a rising independent artist who had a major breakthrough in 2025, when she made her Broadway debut in “SIX The Musical.”
Meanwhile, Kansas City Royals catcher Carter Jensen will serve as the drum honoree, leading the way for the Chiefs’ traditional ceremony to pump up the crowd.
At halftime, the Chiefs will pay tribute to Crucial Catch, an initiative supported by the NFL, the NFL Players Association (NFLPA) and the American Cancer Society. Crucial Catch’s mission is to fight cancer through “early detection and risk reduction.”
Recently, the Chiefs, with help from linebacker Nick Bolton, visited the KU Cancer Center in support of the initiative. By the looks of it, the team isn’t done in further promoting the mission.
While much of the attention on Sunday will be on the game between the Chiefs and Chargers, the game-day festivities promise to be eventful as well.
