A lot of change is expected in Kansas City next season but the Chiefs might be bringing back a very familiar face in 2026.
As Travis Kelce ponders his football future and Patrick Mahomes works his way back from a significant knee injury, there's a ton of question marks regarding the Chiefs following their first losing season since the Romeo Crennel era.
KC's offense struggled to come through in the biggest spots this year and their defense wasn't nearly as dominant as well. But at least one of those sides of the ball could be remedied if the organization is able to land one of Andy Reid's favorite former assistants.

Chiefs preparing to bring back Eric Bieniemy as OC
Per The Athletic's Dianna Russini, with Matt Nagy likely to land a head job elsewhere, Kansas City has been doing it's due diligence on potentially bringing back Eric Bieniemy as the team's offensive coordinator.
"Kansas City is expecting Matt Nagy to land a head coaching job, so the wheels have been in motion on Bieniemy for a few weeks," Russini reported.
Bieniemy served as the Chiefs' OC from 2018-2022 after several years as the team's running backs coach, but left the franchise to take a similar role in Washington following Super Bowl LVII.
He only coached one year with the Commanders before leaving for UCLA and eventually returning to the NFL this season to coach RB's again with the Bears.
Matt Nagy taking second interview with Titans
According to several reports, Nagy will travel to Tennessee on Tuesday to take a second interview with the Titans — a meeting than owner Amy Adams Strunk is supposed to be in attendance for.
Nagy was last a head coach in Chicago where he was able to lead the franchise to a pair playoff appearances with Mitch Trubisky at quarterback.
Since then he has worked with the Chiefs over each of the last three years as offensive coordinator — a title Andy Reid hopes to fill with Bieniemy if given the choice.
Bieniemy was beloved in the Chiefs locker room by Patrick Mahomes and others. We'll see if the team is able to get the band back together in 2026 on their way back to possible Super Bowl contention.
