The Kansas City Chiefs are coming off their bye week and set to host the Los Angeles Chargers at Arrowhead Stadium in Week 6.
The bye week came at a good time for the Chiefs, who suffered multiple wide receiver injury setbacks during their Week 4 win against the Las Vegas Raiders. That includes both Rashee Rice and Tyquan Thornton. Thornton had the worse timeline of the two, dislocating his left ankle and being placed on injured reserve.
As for Rice, he suffered a left hamstring non-contact injury in the first quarter, which was concerning. He did have nearly two weeks to try and recover heading into Sunday.

Unfortunately for quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Rice did not make enough progress to even be considered a game-time decision.
He missed all three practices this week and has been ruled out. He will have a chance to return next week though as the injury is not considered serious.
In the short term, the Chiefs needed answers and have decided to elevate two wide receivers for their matchup against the Chargers. The team elevated both Andrew Armstrong and Justin Watson onto the active roster, per Matt Derrick of Chiefs Digest.
For Watson, this represents his second stint in Kansas City. He was signed just days ago, but given his familiarity with the system and playing for head coach Andy Reid, he is ready in time.
As for Armstrong, he has been with the organization since January, was cut during final roster cuts but cleared waivers and has been on the practice squad ever since. Now he will get a chance to make his NFL debut if he checks in on Sunday.
