Andy Reid shared an unexpected message on his star quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, after he took a huge hit during the 24-10 win over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. On Monday, KC Sports Network’s Charles Goldman went to the social media website X to report on what Kansas City’s head coach had to say following the big hit that Miami defensive end Chop Robinson laid on Mahomes late in the third quarter.
Reid talked about how Mahomes must have felt after the hit.
“Chiefs HC Andy Reid on the big hit QB Patrick Mahomes took on Sunday: ‘I think it was more than a chiropractor can do. I think every bone in his body cracked on that one. He got back up and kept firing.’ 😂” Goldman wrote on X.

Robinson hit the 6-foot-2 quarterback in the chest and drove him to the ground, landing on him. The two-time NFL MVP was slow to get up after the hit, grabbing his lower back.
The referees flagged Robinson for a roughing-the-passer penalty. The three-time Super Bowl MVP remained in the game, with the 31-year-old completing 20 of 24 passes for 246 yards, two touchdowns and an interception.
Kansas City will head to Allegiant Stadium to face off against the 3-0 Las Vegas Raiders in a battle for the lead in the AFC West on Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET.
