USC's Kamari Ramsey is one of the top safety prospects in the 2026 NFL Draft, with an ideal blend of physical and mental tools, and the versatility to line up all over the defensive backfield. That complete skill set will be extremely valuable to defensive coordinators throughout the league, and should make Ramsey a lock to come off the board at some point on Day 2.

Kamari Ramsey's Strengths
Smart and versatile, Ramsey is a coach on the field who can line up all over the place. He’s spent time as a deep safety, down in the box, and even in the slot, showing the athleticism and football IQ to handle a wide range of roles. He can hang with backs and tight ends in man coverage, with the ball skills and timing to break up passes, and the athleticism to limit separation downfield. He can click and close at lightning speed when passes are completed in front of him, quickly closing gaps and making big hits. Ramsey has shown value as a blitz weapon, getting after the quarterback with well-timed rushes and explosiveness. His processing speed is impressive, quickly figuring out what’s coming and getting to the ball in a hurry.
Kamari Ramsey's Weaknesses
Ramsey can get too aggressive at times, and his inconsistent technique as a tackler led to far too many misses, giving up too much extra yardage that could have been avoided. He can play out of control too often, losing his base and reaching for tackles when throttling down and keeping his balance would have helped secure the tackle. His big-play production was lacking in the passing game, as Ramsey managed just 11 pass breakups and two interceptions across his four-year career.
Final Analysis
A team player willing to do whatever’s asked of him, Ramsey has proven he can be an effective defender at multiple spots, and NFL teams will love that versatility. They’ll also love his intelligence, and he’s athletic enough to hang against NFL competition as a moveable defender who will allow his defensive coordinator to get creative with how he’s deployed. Those traits will get him on the field, and improved technique and athletic discipline will keep him there.
