The WNBA is currently going through a bit of turmoil.
The league is under fire for its treatment of 2024 No. 1 overall pick Caitlin Clark. The Indiana Fever star has been on the receiving end of a lot of hard fouls and some negative comments. In fact, a group of U.S. lawmakers have got together and urged the league to do better.
A letter has been sent to the WNBA league office. The letter, led by U.S. Rep. August Pfluger, the chairman of the Republican Study Committee, was co-signed by a dozen members of Congress.

"Caitlin Clark is transforming women's sports," the letter begins. "She has inspired a new generation of young girls to participate in athletics and has become one of the most influential figures in the history of women's basketball."
"She is also the face of your league," the letter adds. "Clark has significantly increased fan interest, driven record television ratings, and attracted new corporate sponsors for the WNBA."
Amid all the turmoil, some are wondering if the league will be impacted.

Harris and her husband, meanwhile, decided to make a public show of support for the WNBA, amid all the turmoil.
The former U.S. VP attended a recent Los Angeles Sparks game and sat courtside, while showing support for the entire league.
The WNBA is currently in the middle of its 2026 regular season, with a couple of months remaining before the playoff push.
Hopefully, for everyone's sake, the WNBA can get out of its own way and avoid controversy heading into the most important parts of the year.
