The 2026 ESPYS will take place on Wednesday night.

Comedian Marcello Hernandez, best known for his time on "Saturday Night Live," will be hosting the 2026 edition of the sports awards show, held at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center.

"I started doing comedy 10 years ago, in Cleveland, Ohio, and I would take the train 12 hours to New York to sell comedy tickets on the street in Greenwich Village in exchange for stage time," Hernández said in a statement. "It is an honor, and frankly feels crazy to be hosting the ESPYS this year in New York. I'm sure the energy is going to be great."

Previous hosts include: Jimmy Kimmel, John Cena, LeBron James, Peyton Manning, Russell Wilson, Samuel L. Jackson, Serena Williams, Shane Gillis, Stephen Curry, Sue Bird and Tracy Morgan, among others.

Many of the world's top athletes, coaches and sports media figures will be in attendance on Wednesday night.

Kai Trump, the 19-year-old granddaughter of President Donald J. Trump, is among those set to attend. It's unclear if Kai Trump will be an official part of the show or the red carpet, but she's excited.

"Can't wait for tonight," she wrote on her Instagram Story.

Kai Trump's inclusion is sure to be controversial

Kai Trump, who is set to play golf at the University of Miami beginning this fall, has millions of followers across social media.

However, as the granddaughter of President Trump, her inclusion at a sports show, airing on ABC, is sure to spark some backlash from some.

Many want politics kept out of sports, but the Trump name makes that fairly impossible.

It'll be interesting to see just how involved Kai Trump is on Wednesday night.
