Kai Trump is a freshman golfer at the University of Miami, though she’s been spending a lot of time at home.
The 19-year-old granddaughter of the President of the United States is a first-year member of the women’s golf team. Kai Trump, who attended The Benjamin School in Florida, committed to the Hurricanes when she was a junior in high school. Her family lives close, only an hour or so away.
But while Kai Trump is experiencing the college life at the University of Miami, she’s chosen to go home every single weekend, choosing to spend time with family rather than experience college life on Saturdays and Sundays.

Kai Trump opened up in a new vlog for her YouTube channel.
“I’ve been at home every single weekend. It’s so close. Only an hour and 20 minutes away,” she said.
Kai Trump says she prefers it this way, for now.
“It makes sense. Especially the weekend, like, if I really have nothing to do. And honestly, being a college athlete, I’m so tired because the whole day, I’m grinding. I’m working out, I’m playing golf, and then I have classes,” the freshman golfer added.
“So, like, when I go home, I feel like it’s just like vacation,” she added.
Kai Trump isn’t at college to ‘party’
Kai Trump isn’t at college to party, she’s made that clear.
“I feel like I haven’t really explored Miami yet because I’m so busy with the golf and stuff like that. I’m here for golf. I’m not here to party in Miami so I guess it’s okay,” she said earlier this month.
“College life is fun. When you’re a student-athlete, that makes it hard to be honest with you,” she said.
College life is certainly a lot when you’re a student and an athlete, but Kai Trump appears to be handling it well so far.
