Dutch speedskater Jutta Leerdam has emerged as one of the biggest stars of the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics. Apart from being the future wife of influencer/professional boxer Jake Paul, the 27-year-old Olympian is also one of the best athletes in her sport.

Leerdam headed into the 2026 Winter Games with one Olympic medal under her belt. She won silver at the women’s 1000m at the 2022 Beijing Olympics. On Feb. 9, she won her second Olympic medal. This time around, she won gold at the 1000m competition.

It was an emotional moment for Leerdam, who broke down in tears after her bagging her first Olympic gold medal. She also set a new Olympic record with a time of 1:12.31.

Leerdam was back in action on Sunday for her second and final event at the 2026 Olympics. She competed in the women’s 500m race, where she secured a spot on the podium once again.

Leerdam went 2-for-2 in her Olympic events after a second-place finish in Sunday’s 500m competition. She finished with a time of 37.15, behind Dutch teammate Femke Kok, who set a new Olympic record in the 500m with a time of 36.49.

Leerdam took to social media after her latest triumph. She expressed her joy after her massive accomplishment. Her post, however, also included an unexpected health update.

“What a day, I woke up sick yesterday. I don’t know how I pulled this off, but so happy I did!!!” Leerdam posted on her Instagram story.

Leerdam did not reveal the full details of her illness. However, it appears that her condition may have impacted her performance in the race. The fact that she still finished second — and just 0.66 seconds form another gold — despite her sickness makes her feat even more impressive.

Leerdam also shared some photos from her memorable performance at the 500m race.

Leerdam’s Olympics is now officially over. She won two medals in two events, making it a highly successful second Olympic stint for the Dutch star.
