The Buffalo Bills have had several iterations of a championship-winning team since the arrival of their superstar quarterback, Josh Allen. However, none of them has succeeded in delivering a Lombardi trophy to the New York-based franchise.
In Allen's eight seasons in Buffalo, the Bills have failed to make the Super Bowl and have been to the AFC Championship game just twice, losing to the Kansas City Chiefs on both occasions.
Ahead of the 2026 season, the Bills made several notable moves during the offseason, and Allen believes this is the closest-knit group he has been part of since entering the NFL in 2018.
"This group from offense to defense is the tightest-knit group that I've been around really since I've entered the league," the one-time league MVP said after practice on Friday. "The defense is meshing so well together. Just even when you walk in the dorm room or walk in the cafeteria, guys are sitting down, talking, really getting to know each other. There's just a lot of love on this team, and that'll show on the field."

The Bills parted ways with long-time head coach Sean McDermott in January this year after their defeat in the Divisional Round against the Denver Broncos. He was replaced by the Bills' offensive coordinator, Joe Brady, as head coach. Brady and Allen have been working together since 2022 and know each other very well.
The front office has also made some shrewd additions this offseason. Former Chicago Bears wide receiver D.J. Moore arrived in Buffalo to give Allen a legitimate No.1 option and bolster the team's passing game. The Bills also signed O'Cyrus Torrence to a multi-year extension, stabilising the offensive line for the immediate future.
On the other side of the ball, the Bills acquired two-time Pro-Bowler Bradley Chubb as well as veteran defensemen C.J. Gardner-Johnson and Geno Stone. They also used their second-round draft pick to acquire defensive end T.J. Parker out of Clemson University.
The roster appears well-equipped for another deep playoff run, and with Allen at the helm, the Bills have one of the NFL's premier quarterbacks leading the way. With Buffalo's championship window still open, this could be one of the team's best opportunities yet to win a Super Bowl during the Josh Allen era.
