Former WWE announcer and popular wrestling personality Jonathan Coachman believes Brock Lesnar deserves to be mentioned alongside Hulk Hogan and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson when discussing the greatest businessmen in professional wrestling.
Speaking exclusively to “Hard Rock Bet,” Coachman was asked about Lesnar’s legacy following his retirement. While Lesnar’s intimidating presence has often been the defining part of his wrestling persona, Coachman believes his business instincts deserve just as much recognition.
“He is maybe the most underrated superstar of all time. I think a lot of people think he’s so scary that he’s not a good businessman in wrestling. When I say a good businessman, I think of the likes of The Rock. I think of Hulk Hogan. I think of Brock Lesnar.”
By putting “The Beast Incarnate” in the same sentence as Hogan and The Rock, Coachman was highlighting what he sees as the former WWE Champion’s ability to understand his value. All three became enormous attractions and were able to turn that status into lucrative careers.
Coachman then explained why fans should separate their personal opinions of a wrestler from what that performer actually accomplished in the industry.
“Fans have to understand when I use those names, you’ve got to be able to separate how you feel personally about the talent and what they actually did in the business. We’re all human beings.”
He continued by acknowledging that even the biggest stars are capable of mistakes.
“We all are flawed. We all make mistakes. We all say things at certain points in our careers when you have a camera in front of you at all times.”
Coachman’s comments ultimately frame Lesnar as more than the intimidating “Beast Incarnate” fans saw on WWE television. In his view, Lesnar understood how valuable he was, protected that value and built a career that allowed him to earn at the highest level without working a traditional full-time schedule.
Brock Lesnar Ends His Wrestling Career After SummerSlam

“The Beast Incarnate” officially announced his retirement from professional wrestling and combat sports on August 4, 2026, bringing an end to a career that included major accomplishments in both WWE and UFC.
His final WWE match took place at SummerSlam on August 1, where he faced Oba Femi inside Hell in a Cell. The bout served as the latest chapter in their passing-of-the-torch rivalry, with Lesnar ultimately putting over the younger star.
After the match, Lesnar broke character to praise Femi and referred to him as “the future of WWE.”
The match followed a dramatic final stretch to Lesnar’s career. At WrestleMania 42, he initially appeared to be finished after losing to Femi and leaving his boots and gloves in the ring. He later returned, setting up another confrontation with the rising WWE star.
Lesnar later explained that he initially believed his body had reached its limit after the WrestleMania encounter. He eventually returned because he felt he still had some fuel left, but the physical toll of the SummerSlam match convinced him that it was time to walk away.
Following his retirement announcement on “The Pat McAfee Show,” Lesnar said he planned to retreat to his farm and spend more time supporting his children, including his daughter Mya Lesnar’s track and field career.
With his wrestling career now over, Coachman’s assessment puts another layer on Lesnar’s legacy. Beyond his size, power and accomplishments in the ring, he believes Lesnar was one of the industry’s smartest performers when it came to understanding his worth.
