Jon Stewart Has Message For Critics Of Bad Bunny's Halftime Show

Jon Stewart goes on rant about Bad Bunny.

The Daily Show.

Longtime comedian and TV host Jon Stewart didn't hold back his thoughts on Bad Bunny's performance at Super Bowl LX.

The NFL received plenty of backlash for selecting Bad Bunny as its halftime performer for this year's Super Bowl. There was so much outrage surrounding the Grammy Award winner that Turning Point USA created the "All-American Halftime Show." The organization, which was founded by the late Charlie Kirk, had Kid Rock headline its show on YouTube.

“The All-American Halftime Show is an opportunity for all Americans to enjoy a halftime show with no agenda other than to celebrate faith, family, and freedom,” Turning Point USA spokesman Andrew Kolvet said. “We set out to provide an entertainment option that will be fun, excellent, and exciting for the entire family while millions are gathered together for the big game. These performers will deliver exactly that, and we can’t wait to watch the incredible show they’re about to put on. We know millions around the country will be watching too.”

During Monday night's edition of "The Daily Show," Stewart fired back at all the people who boycotted Bad Bunny's halftime show.

"This whole culture war this weekend has really demonstrated one thing: it’s that for all of Maga’s triumphalism, it’s not a movement that seems confident in its position. These people who control every branch of government are so triggered by someone singing in Spanish for 20 minutes, they need to create their own safe space alternative half-time show, where Trad Bunny over here is singing songs about how he can’t even enjoy sitting in a truck and drinking beer because he knows that somewhere out there, there’s a trans person," Stewart said during his monologue. "It’s actually [expletive] pathetic. The gap between the power you all wield and the victimhood you all claim is the real offense. If you didn’t actually have the power to do so much damage in our country, I think we’d all dismiss it as a weak and pathetic pity party."

Stewart also ripped the narrative going around that Bad Bunny "divided" the country with his halftime show at Levi's Stadium.

"Why the [expletive] is it the Super Bowl halftime entertainer's job to unify the country? In what world is that their job? Oh, isn't there another person whose job description is much more along those lines?"

Bad Bunny made history.

According to reports, Bad Bunny's halftime show on NBC had 135.4 million viewers. If that ends up being accurate, it'll go down as the most-viewed halftime show in Super Bowl history.

In the meantime, it's been confirmed that Bad Bunny broke the record for most watched Super Bowl halftime show on YouTube in 24 hours. That record was previously held by Shakira and Jennifer Lopez.

Suffice to say, there were plenty of eyes on Bad Bunny despite all the outrage online.
