What were Duke and men's basketball coach Jon Scheyer doing in the second half of Sunday's Elite Eight game?
Duke, which once led by nearly 20 points, suffered a shocking second half upset loss to No. 2 seed UConn in Washington, D.C. on Sunday. The Huskies forced a big turnover late, before freshman guard Braylon Mullins sunk an epic game-winning 3-pointer as less than one second remained on the clock.
UConn is off to the Final Four, while Duke is going home early, as the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament.
This was an all-time classic:
Duke's men's basketball coach is getting absolutely roasted for his decision making in the second half.
Fans are bashing Duke's head coach, Jon Scheyer, on Sunday
"Is it time to start questioning John Scheyer he gets 5 star after 5 star and has 0 National championships," one fan wrote.
"Fire Jon Scheyer," one fan added.
"Jon Scheyer back to back years with best talent chokes again he is not a good coach," one fan added.
"Jon Scheyer choked another game? Can’t win the big one. Duke is nothing but a choke program. Hate to see it," one fan added.
"What an absolute collapse by Duke - Jon Scheyer was completely out coached by Dan Hurley that second half," one fan added.
"There needs to be a conversation about scheyer and choking the last two years," one fan added.
"Imagine having this team and not going to the Final Four. John Scheyer just can’t win the big one," one fan added.
"Idc about his record, Duke might have to give John Scheyer the exit UNC gave Hubert Davis. Every year there has been some really bad moments that point to his coaching being lacking," one fan added.
This is going to be an all-time loss for Duke, that's for sure.
