With Jaxson Dart currently banged up, the New York Giants are in the market for help at the quarterback position. That being said, it didn’t take long for Colin Kaepernick to be mentioned as a potential option for John Harbaugh’s squad.
Harbaugh raved about Kaepernick during a discussion with Ian O’Connor of The Athletic. He was apparently interested in adding the former second-round pick to the Baltimore Ravens’ roster in 2017.
“His talent, and also the fact I had inside information as to who he was from my brother,” Harbaugh said, via Pro Football Talk. “We talked a lot about him, and I’d met Kap many times, had numerous conversations with him because of that. We talked about it at length as an organization, and we liked the fit. . . . The bottom line is your quarterback has to make plays for you, and Colin Kaepernick proved he could do that.”
Harbaugh’s brother, Jim, coached Kaepernick on the San Francisco 49ers from 2011-2014. They reached the Super Bowl during the 2012 season and ultimately lost to John Harbaugh and the Ravens.
Even though Harbaugh spoke highly of Kaepernick in 2017, we’re nearly a decade removed from those remarks. It’s hard to envision a scenario where the Giants express interest in him.

It’s unlikely we’ll see Kaepernick in New York.
Kaepernick, who had 12,271 passing yards, 2,300 rushing yards and 85 total touchdowns during his run with the 49ers, recently said that he’s still training just in case an NFL team knocks on his door.
“I still train five days a week. I’m up at 4:30 in the morning doing my training before I go about the rest of my day,” Kaepernick said. “I have to do everything that is in my control to make sure that I’m prepared.”
At 38 years old though, Kaepernick has probably played his last down in the NFL.
