John Cena has joined the wrestling world in remembering Benjamin Satterley, better known as PAC in AEW and Neville in WWE, following his death at 40. Rather than writing a lengthy message, Cena shared a single image of the late wrestler performing his signature move during his WWE run.
AEW announced Satterley’s death on September 27, just one day after he wrestled Andrade El Idolo at All Out in Chicago. The promotion did not disclose a cause of death, leaving the wrestling community to mourn the former champion while details surrounding his passing remain unknown.
Satterley began wrestling professionally in 2004 before joining WWE in 2012. He became one of NXT’s standout performers as Neville, winning the NXT Championship and the NXT Tag Team Championship twice before moving to the main roster.
During his WWE career, Satterley also became a two-time Cruiserweight Champion. He eventually left the company and returned to using the PAC name, joining AEW in 2019 and building another decorated chapter of his career.
Cena’s tribute came through Instagram, where the 17-time world champion posted a photo of PAC executing the Red Arrow, the corkscrew shooting star press that became closely associated with him during his WWE run. “The Cenation Leader” did not add a caption to the image, instead allowing the photograph to serve as his tribute.

The post was particularly fitting given that Cena and PAC had shared the ring during the latter’s time on WWE’s main roster.

PAC answered Cena’s United States Championship Open Challenge on the May 11, 2015, episode of Monday Night RAW. The match gave Neville a chance to compete against one of WWE’s biggest stars and produced one of the most memorable performances of his main-roster run.
Neville repeatedly frustrated “The Chain Gang Soldier” during the bout and came close to winning the United States Championship. He connected with the Red Arrow and appeared to have the match won, but Rusev interfered before the referee could complete the three-count, resulting in a disqualification.
That match became an example of the athletic ability that had made PAC stand out long before his AEW career. His final AEW appearance came at All Out 2026, where he challenged Andrade for the National Championship before appearing later during the AEW World Championship main event.
PAC’s career ultimately stretched across WWE, AEW, and the international wrestling scene, with his high-flying style becoming one of his defining traits. John Cena’s simple tribute brought attention back to one of the performances that helped establish Satterley as a unique talent during his WWE years.
