Joe Burrow’s model girlfriend, Olivia Ponton, is opening up about her weight battles.
Ponton, a prominent model and influencer, is opening up about her struggles with anorexia. She posted a TikTok video on Saturday, opening up about her struggles with weight and body image.
“Being anorexic, nine times out of 10, is not going to give you the body that you’re craving, nor desiring. And as someone who has struggled with many, many, many forms of eating disorders, specifically anorexia, I want to talk about this,” Ponton said.
Ponton said that many in the modeling world struggle with this. She did, though, speak about the misconception that models that “have to make their body look a certain way for their job” don’t eat, and said that, “couldn’t be further from the truth.”
“When people think that you are anorexic, it automatically means that you’re going to be the skinniest, and look the best that you’ve ever looked. Example for me, when I was going through the height of my eating disorders, I have never looked worse,” Ponton added.
Ponton added her full thoughts in a video, with the caption: “I hope this helps.”
Ponton appears to be doing much better now, and she should be praised for being so honest about her issues and struggles.
The girlfriend of the Bengals star isn’t the only one to open up about mental health and body image struggles.
Chloe Kim, the girlfriend of Rams star Myles Garrett, admitted that she was recently diagnosed with ADHD
“Actually, I recently found out I have ADHD,” Kim, an Olympic snowboarder, said in an Instagram post.
“For years, I was struggling. But once I finally opened up to my doctor, it was like everything suddenly clicked.”
It’s cool to see that honesty is winning out on social media these days.
