For the Cincinnati Bengals, quarterback Joe Burrow believes the 2026 season can be different.
The Bengals’ quarterback is confident in his team this upcoming season, especially after missing the postseason in 2025.
After leading Cincinnati to the Super Bowl in his second NFL season, Burrow has remained determined to deliver a championship.
Joe Burrow Puts Bengals on Notice
In a Thursday press conference, Burrow sent a clear message to the Bengals about the urgency of the upcoming season.
“You know, I’m tired of saying ‘next year, next year, next year,'” Burrow told reporters on Thursday. “This is it. Life is too short to keep pushing things down the road. I’m trying to instill some urgency and intensity in everybody to go and be great every day, and trying to make it happen.”
Burrow made it clear that he is approaching the 2026 season with a sense of urgency.
“That’s how I’m treating it, for sure. That’s how I’m treating it,” he said.

Burrow’s comments make it clear that the Bengals’ franchise quarterback believes in the team’s potential heading into the 2026 NFL season.
He missed most of the 2025 season and will look to return to elite form in 2026. The Bengals will need their starting quarterback if they want to make a deep postseason run.

Burrow has high expectations for this upcoming season, and rightfully so. The Bengals had a stellar offseason addressing an area that has been a major weakness for the team in recent years.
Cincinnati traded for defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence II from the New York Giants and also signed DT Jonathan Allen, edge rusher Boye Mafe and safety Bryan Cook in free agency.
Still, the Bengals will need to prove they can translate their offseason improvements into success on the field.
While it remains to be seen whether the Bengals can get the job done this season, one thing is certain: Burrow has high expectations.
