Jim Harbaugh shared his thoughts about Justin Herbert's engagement to Madison Beer. The couple dominated headlines after announcing their relationship milestone, and the Los Angeles Chargers head coach was asked for his reaction.
Harbaugh admitted that the news excited him and the rest of the team. They knew the quarterback would propose but didn't know exactly when.
"We didn't know until after he told us," Harbaugh said on Wednesday at training camp. "We were all over that.
"He kind of said it was going to happen this summer, and yeah, it's awesome. I feel great for him. It's awesome."
Herbert and Beer first sparked romance rumors in August. The two-time Pro Bowler was spotted visiting Beer on the set of her music video shoot.
The singer eventually became a fixture at Chargers home games, showing her support for Herbert in the stands. They confirmed their relationship after cameras caught them sharing a pregame kiss ahead of Los Angeles' Week 5 game against Washington. The engagement announcement was made via a joint Instagram post on Tuesday.
Herbert and the Chargers are looking to have a deeper playoff run next season. They qualified for the postseason last year but lost 16-3 to the New England Patriots in the Wild Card Round.
Herbert also has his sights set on surpassing his numbers in 2025. The Oregon product completed 340-of-512 passes for 3,727 yards, 26 touchdowns and 13 turnovers. He added 83 rushing attempts for 498 rushing yards and two scores.
Herbert is now entering his seventh season in the NFL, and the stakes continue to get higher.
