The New York Jets are positioned to be one of themost fascinating teams in the 2027 NFL Draft, and a new first-round mock draft shows just how dramatically they could reshape their roster.
The Jets currently own three first-round picks next April, and Athlon Sports NFL Draft analyst Luke Easterling has New York using the first of them to finally address the most important position in the sport.
In his latest 2027 NFL mock draft, Easterling projects the Jets to select Oregon quarterback Dante Moore with the No. 2 overall pick.
Moore could have entered the 2026 NFL Draft but instead returned to Oregon for another season. Easterling believes the additional experience should only help polish Moore’s skill set, one that’s already considered worthy of a top-five pick.
If the Jets actually do finish with the second overall pick, quarterback would immediately become one of the biggest storylines surrounding the franchise. Geno Smith is currently New York’s starter, but he’s nothing more than a veteran bridge to QB-next. Moore could be that guy.

Jets add to Defense With David Stone and Ashton Hampton
This is where the real fun begins for New York: two more first-round picks.
The Jets’ second first-orund pick comes at No. 10 overall via the Indianapolis Colts, where Easterling projects Oklahoma defensive lineman David Stone to New York.
“After landing their new franchise quarterback, the Jets continue reloading their roster with young talent, this time on the other side of the ball,” Easterling wrote. “Every successful rebuild has to invest in the trenches, and Stone has the combination of size, power and explosiveness to be a disruptive force at the next level.”
The defensive reinforcements don’t stop there. The Jets land Clemson cornerback Ashton Hampton at No 20. As Easterling noted, it’s a pick that helps fill a long-term need after New York traded Sauce Gardner last season.
Hampton possesses the size and length to match up with NFL receivers and enters the 2026 college football season with a chance to establish himself as a mid-first-round pick.
Indeed, it’s only August. And, yes, plenty will change between now and the 2027 NFL Draft. But mock drafts like Easterling’s illustrate the opportunity the New York Jets could have next April. Three first-round picks give the Jets the ammunition to aggressively pursue a franchise quarterback while still adding premium talent elsewhere.
