George Pickens, Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb were the main reasons behind the Dallas Cowboys' offensive success during the 2025 NFL season. Despite the Cowboys missing the playoffs for the second consecutive year with a 7-9-1 record, they had a lot to smile about when it came to the dynamic trio.
Dak Prescott threw for an impressive 4,552 yards, the receiving duo of George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb registered 1,429 and 1,077 receiving yards, respectively. This meant it was imperative for Jerry Jones to keep the trio together while adding defensive reinforcements to fix the Cowboys' glaring issues.

While Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb have long-term contracts that run through the 2028 season, George Pickens' long-term future with the team remains unclear. Cowboys decided to place the wide receiver on a $27.3 million non-exclusive franchise tag during the NFL offseason, which he signed on April 29.
This situation was effectively settled when the July 15th deadline passed without the parties agreeing to a long term deal. The Cowboys have already made it clear that George will play the 2026 season under the franchise tag, with no negotiations planned during the yeear.
But now Jerry Jones faces a decision after receiving a clear request from CeeDee Lamb. Cowboys wide receiver requested Jones to find a solution to keep Pickens in Dallas long-term. He said, “I’m sure we can make a way."
"I know it’s going to be a little crazy, but I know we can make a way for this one. Listen, this is my advocation: '@ Jerry, can you please figure out a way? Let’s figure it out. I don’t care what needs to happen. Let’s figure it out and it’s going to get you a couple more championships," he added.
George Pickens has been one of the stars for the Cowboys during training camp. The eyes will definitely be on him when the Cowboys face the Seattle Seahawks in their preseason opener on August 15.
