Dallas Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens has had a phenomenal start to his career in the NFL. Through four seasons in the league, Pickens has played in 65 games, hauling in 267 receptions for 4,270 yards and 21 touchdowns. He has also run for 36 more yards and another score on the ground.
The former Georgia Bulldogs wideout was selected in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers, and spent the first three years of his career there. Before the 2025 season, Pickens was traded to Dallas in exchange for a third-round draft pick.
Pickens' first year with the Cowboys was fantastic, as he became the No. 1 target for quarterback Dak Prescott.

In the 2025 season, Pickens played all 17 games with 15 starts, catching 93 passes on 137 targets for 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns en route to his first Pro Bowl appearance. All of these were team highs, as Pickens took over as the top wideout with CeeDee Lamb missing time with injuries.
This offseason, Cowboys owner, general manager and president Jerry Jones placed the team's franchise tag on Pickens, keeping him in Dallas for the 2026 season on a one-year, $27 million contract.
On Tuesday, with rumors of extension talk between Pickens and the Cowboys on the rise, Jones addressed the situation, announcing his plans for the star receiver.
"Make no mistake about it, we have long-term plans for Pickens," Jones said in part.
This is good news for Cowboys fans, who had hoped Pickens and Dallas would reach a long-term contract before the team placed the franchise tag on him.
With Pickens and Lamb continuing to be one of the top wide receiver duos in the league, the Cowboys have high hopes for 2026 and beyond.
