Jerry Jones has kept the phone busy for more than a year. Since August 2025, the Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager has sent Micah Parsons to Green Bay for two first-round picks and Kenny Clark and given the Jets a first-round pick, a second-round pick and Mazi Smith in the Quinnen Williams trade. Last week he paid Pittsburgh a 2028 second-round pick and a 2027 sixth for Joey Porter Jr.
PFF’s Bradley Locker published a list of 15 trade candidates ahead of the Nov. 10 deadline and named Dallas as a possible fit for five of them, all edge rushers: Tuli Tuipulotu (Chargers), Yaya Diaby (Buccaneers), Zaven Collins (Cardinals), Will McDonald IV (Jets) and Joshua Uche (Dolphins). Locker is projecting fits and does not report any talks. Four of the five are on expiring contracts, and Over the Cap shows McDonald signed through 2027.
Locker calls Tuipulotu, 24, the best available edge defender on the market. His 80.9 overall grade ranks 12th among qualified edge defenders, per PFF, and he carries a $5.77 million base salary, according to Over the Cap. Collins, 27, matches the bigger need. His 90.6 run-defense grade is third among edge rushers and Locker wrote that Cowboys edge defenders own the worst PFF run-defense grade.
Dallas edge rushers have 1.5 sacks

Dallas is 2-2, and first-year coordinator Christian Parker’s defense has four sacks and has allowed 601 rushing yards, 4.8 per carry. The edge group has produced 1.5 of those sacks, one from Rashan Gary and a half from Donovan Ezeiruaku. Gary, who arrived from Green Bay for a 2027 fourth-round pick in March, has a 52.0 run-defense grade on 72 run snaps, according to PFF. First-round rookie Malachi Lawrence is at 37.8 on 44.
Jones has left the door open. On the subject of more moves this year, he said on 105.3 The Fan after the Porter trade that “it’s always fluid” and “you can’t sit still,” per Pro Football Talk.
The Cowboys have $16.3 million in 2026 cap space, eighth-most in the league, per Over the Cap. Draft capital is thinner. The higher of their two 2027 first-round picks goes to the Jets, and Dallas holds three 2027 selections: the other first-rounder, its own second and a fourth acquired from Pittsburgh. Its 2028 second already belongs to the Steelers.
