Jerry Jeudy, at one time, was one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. The receiver caught 90 passes for 1,229 yards and four touchdowns in 2024, earning a Pro Bowl selection in the process.
However, since then, Jeudy hasn’t come even close to replicating that production. In 2025, Jeudy ended with 602 yards, which was his lowest output since an injury shortened 2021 campaign.
In 2026, the wheels have completely fallen off, as Jeudy is has become an afterthought in Cleveland. Through five games, Jeudy has just eight catches for 81 yards and no touchdowns. As a result, Jeudy is one of the more obvious trade candidates in the league.
The Panthers have a true WR1 in Tetairoa McMillan, but they should not hesitate to try and land Jeudy if he really is available.
Panthers Need a Complementary Option Behind McMillan, Jalen Coker

Andrew Buller-Russ of Sportsnaut recently identified the Panthers as one of the most logical fits for Jeudy. Jeudy has proven he can be a reliable receiver in a better system, and the Panthers don’t have much depth behind their top two.
“Bryce Young is soaring in his fourth NFL season, fully living up to his potential,” Buller-Russ explained. “While Tetairoa McMillan looks borderline unstoppable with Young throwing him the ball, the Panthers also need more complementary playmakers.”
As Buller-Russ mentioned, the Panthers definitely need more behind McMillan and Coker. Bryce Young is having his best season as a pro, and this offense is airing the ball out. There would be plenty of targets to go around even if Jeudy is added.
So far in 2026, McMillan has 26 catches, while Coker has 18. No other wide receiver on the Panthers has even seven catches, so it’s clear a true WR3 is a big need ahead of the deadline.
Because Jeudy is under contract for just one more year, and he’s on pace to have his worst season, the Browns can’t expect to get much in return. If the price isn’t crazy, the Panthers should definitely be working the phones.
Buller-Russ mentioned including Xavier Legette in the trade, but even if he were healthy, I’m not sure the Browns would be interested. Instead, perhaps the Browns would be interested in one of the Panthers’ five tight ends, plus a mid-round pick.
