Notre Dame Fighting Irish running back Jeremiyah Love is widely regarded as one of the top players in the 2026 NFL Draft. After three years with the Fighting Irish, he ended with 2,882 rushing yards and 36 touchdowns.

The 2025 season was his most productive. In 12 games, he rushed for 1,372 yards and 18 touchdowns while hauling in 27 receptions for 280 yards and three touchdowns. After finishing third in Heisman Trophy voting and becoming a unanimous All-American, he's taking the next step in his career.

Love is one of many draft prospects attending the NFL scouting combine. It allows all 32 teams to get a closer look at the running back.

He's expected to be taken off the board early. ESPN ranks the Notre Dame product as the best running back and No. 3 player available in the draft.

While he will garner a lot of attention, only one team will get Love. During a Friday appearance on "The Rich Eisen Show," Love was asked if he'd want to join the Kansas City Chiefs. He praised star quarterback Patrick Mahomes in his response.

“Yes, yes, I would be,” Love said. “Especially playing with Patrick Mahomes. I feel like he’s the best quarterback as of right now. Best in the league. I feel like he’s top one. So it would be an honor to play with him.”

Kansas City could be in play for Love. After going just 6-11 and missing the playoffs, the Chiefs hold the No. 9 pick. Surrounding Mahomes, who is recovering from a torn ACL, with playmakers is considered a top priority this offseason.

With Isiah Pacheco and Kareem Hunt both on expiring contracts, running back is a position the Chiefs are expected to address. Love, a St. Louis native, who already has a high level of respect for Mahomes, could be the big-time rushing threat Kansas City has been seeking.
