Jeremiah Smith had another big day on Saturday.
The Ohio State Buckeyes junior wide receiver had a big day en route to a blowout win over Iowa in a Top 25 matchup on Saturday afternoon. Ohio State topped Iowa, 31-14, as the Buckeyes’ star wide receiver put on a show.
Smith had 11 catches for 206 yards and two touchdowns in the victory. Last week, in a home win over Illinois, Smith had 12 catches for 217 yards and four touchdowns. He has more than 400 yards and six touchdowns in back-to-back games.
It’s absurd production.

The Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver cannot be stopped – and he knows it. He should be the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy.
Smith made it clear postgame that he believes he’s the best player in all of college football.
“You’ve just got to [let] the Heisman voters or whoever it is know that I’m the best player in the country,” Smith said, via Adam Rittenberg of ESPN. “I’ve got to be there.”
Smith should be the Heisman Trophy favorite
Smith has been arguably the most talented player in college football for a few years now. It’s fair to suggest that it’s been the case since he stepped foot on campus.
Of course, it’s rare for a wide receiver to win the Heisman Trophy, but given Smith’s dominance and overall numbers, he certainly has a very good chance at it right now, especially if he finishes the season in strong form.
Smith now has 44 catches for 823 yards and 9 touchdowns – all marks that rank first in the country.
