Jennifer Hudson, the beloved U.S. singer, performed the "Star Spangled Banner" prior to the FIFA Men's World Cup Final on Sunday.
The 44-year-old singer, known for her vocals, showed them off in a big way on Sunday. However, some fans took issue with her rendition of the song. Hudson went a different route, not going with the traditional tempo, and some fans found it awkward and odd.
While fans clapped at Metlife Stadium following the performance, many took to social media, complaining about her version.
"Is jennifer hudson trying to make this the SLOWEST rendition of the american national anthem ever?" one fan wondered.

World Cup fans criticize Hudson's performance Sunday
Some fans did not appreciate Hudson's version of the song, even though she sounded great vocally.
"It was not good at all," one fan wrote.
"Butchered it!" one fan added.
"Jennifer Hudson absolutely butchering the national anthem," one fan added.
"Jennifer Hudson with possibly the cringiest rendition of the anthem ever?" one fan added.
Others, meanwhile, simply took issue with the U.S. national anthem being played at all, given that it's a game between Argentina and Spain.
"Jennifer Hudson. Great singer .. but don't like all that American national anthem stuff at the World Cup Final. Don't care if it's there. Their team ain't in the final," one fan added.
"Why is Jennifer Hudson singing the American national anthem at the FIFA World Cup championship with Argentina vs Spain again???" one fan added.
