In HBO’s iconic “Succession,” Kendall Roy – the self-declared eldest boy of the Roy clan (technically the second oldest, thanks to Connor Roy) – repeatedly attempts to stop his siblings from preventing him from taking over his dad’s company.
Ultimately, he fails. The company falls out of family hands and Kendall Roy ends the series defeated and in search of what he’s supposed to do.
Jeanie Buss is now experiencing this in real life.
The daughter of Jerry Buss has lost control of the Lakers and, apparently, her family. She’s now trying to stop her siblings from selling what’s remaining of the family share of the Lakers.

Earlier this month, the Lakers were shockingly sold from Mark Walton to Joshua Kushner and Bob Iger for an astounding $12 billion.
But the Buss family still controlled a sizable piece of the Lakers. However, the Buss family voted to sell their remaining shares and get out.
Jeanie Buss isn’t happy.
Daughter of legendary Lakers owner is trying to stop the sale
Jeanie Buss and her attorney have filed a motion to stop the sale.
“Jeanie Buss and her attorney, Adam Streisand, have filed a petition to block her siblings’ attempted sale of the family’s Lakers shares. A court hearing is scheduled for November 5, according to a filing that was publicly processed today,” Sam Amick shared.
“Jeanie Buss is not only calling for the family’s vote of the Lakers shares to be deemed void, but for co-trustees Joey and Janie Buss be removed for ‘breach of fiduciary duty.’ She calls for her siblings to be liable ‘for loss and damages’ as well.
Ultimately, things didn’t work out for Kendall Roy. And it’s unlikely that they’ll work out for Jeanie Buss.
But she’s trying.
