Jayden Daniels had a brilliant first season in the National Football League, leading the Washington Commanders to a surprise NFC Championship Game appearance. Things fell apart in Year 2, though, as Daniels struggled with injuries and the Commanders missed the playoffs.
What will Year 3 bring?
While Daniels is hoping to thrive on the field, he's showing some major immaturity off of it. Daniels, who starred at LSU after transferring from Arizona State, is seriously upset that the Tigers have given out his No. 5 jersey.
An attorney representing Washington Commanders quarterback has informed LSU that it can "no longer use his name, image and likeness," according to an Aug. 5 letter sent to Tigers athletic director Verge Ausberry, that ESPN obtained.

Daniels wore No. 5 at LSU, winning the Heisman Trophy. The Tigers are allowing sophomore cornerback DJ Pickett to wear the No. 5 jersey. While Daniels' No. 5 isn't retired, it's the first time that a player is wearing his No. 5 at LSU since he left.
"The Daniels family is deeply disappointed and feels profoundly disrespected by LSU's decision to give Jayden's number to another player," the statement from Daniels' spokesperson said. "Jayden and his family had every reason to believe that his number would remain a meaningful part of his LSU legacy and would be honored and protected in recognition of his extraordinary contributions to the university."
It's very immature behavior
Daniels did a lot at LSU, but should his No. 5 jersey be retired forever? Probably not.
Why make this a thing?
LSU gave his No. 5 jersey out to another outstanding player, who deserves to wear it. Daniels should be focusing on the upcoming NFL season, rather than getting upset by what his former college is doing.
It's not a good sign for his mentality if he's getting upset by this kind of thing.
