Jason Whitlock has seen enough from DiJonai Carrington.
The former ESPN and Fox Sports 1 personality is calling for the WNBA to kick the veteran Chicago Sky guard out of the league, following her latest dangerous play on the court on Wednesday night.
Days after her Flagrant 2 hit on Sophie Cunningham, Carrington hit a Golden State Valkyries player in the eye, earning a foul. Later in the same game, she hit another Valkyries player in the face during a drive.
"Get this woman out of basketball," he wrote.
"Out of the league."
Following her ejection against the Indiana Fever, Carrington took to social media, posting "white privilege" and tagging her opponent.
However, she now claims that she never meant that the foul call was a product of "white privilege."
"I've never once claimed that the assessment of the foul was white privilege (that was your assumption). Try exercising your critical thinking skills, I know you studied psych. Furthermore, I'm the LAST thing from ignorant or asinine when it comes to speaking on 'white privilege" 'do ya research on that one. I actually went to school, one of the top universities might I add, to educate myself on this exact subject. I would never use that term as a rhetorical weapon knowing the historical and social weight it holds without having the proper evidence to substantiate it," she wrote.
WNBA has yet to further discipline Carrington
While harsh, ejection-worthy fouls will often result in some type of further punishment - like a fine or suspension - Carrington has yet to receive one from the WNBA.
The veteran WNBA guard is averaging 11.1 points, 2.9 assists and 1.0 rebounds per game. She was a second round pick in the 2021 WNBA Draft out of Baylor and Stanford.
The Chicago Sky are 12-22 on the year.
