Former Philadelphia Eagles star Jason Kelce is still getting a hang of this TV thing.
The future Pro Football Hall of Famer, who has been retired for two years, covers the NFL for ESPN. He works on ESPN’s “Monday Night Countdown,” alongside “SportsCenter” host Scott Van Pelt.
While Kelce is used to speaking publicly – he hosts a podcast with his brother, Travis Kelce – he’s not completely used to this TV thing. Kelce has made two unfortunate on-air mistakes over the past week or so, sparking apologies.

Kelce referred to the Commanders as the “Redskins” during the third quarter of Sunday’s game on NFL Network. The Commanders were taking on the Colts in London.
“The (Commanders) right now doing a great job of not only staying tight, but making the play when the ball is in the receiver’s hand and keeping it short of the sticks,” he said in the third quarter.
Kelce later apologized for the mistake. The name “Redskins” has become fairly taboo since the Washington NFL franchise moved away from it.
“Sorry, Washington,” he said.
The brother of the Kansas City Chiefs star also apologized for saying ‘we’ on air when talking about the Eagles.
Kelce apologized for saying ‘we’ on air
Kelce referred to the Eagles as “we” during Philadelphia’s Monday Night Football loss at Chicago last week.
“I’m looking at it’s 10-7. I feel pretty good going in half. We played really well offensively. We had opportunities. We shot ourselves in the foot, but we’ve moved the ball. We’ve ran the ball well,” Kelce said at halftime. “Jalen Hurts is throwing the ball well. I think, you know, them getting the ball coming out of half, I got a feeling they got a lot of momentum going in there.”
Pat McAfee pointed it out: “A lot of “we” talk out of Jason for Philly.”
Kelce was quick to apologize on the air.
“Sorry. Sorry,” Kelce said.
The 38-year-old former NFL star is still learning.
