Jason Kelce made his 2026 NFL regular season “Monday Night Football” debut this week.
The Kansas City Chiefs hosted the Denver Broncos in ESPN’s first “Monday Night Football” game of the 2026 season. The Chiefs took down the Broncos in impressive fashion, to win their first game of the season. The Chiefs, who missed the playoffs last year, are looking to take a big step forward in 2026.
Jason Kelce, who got to watch his younger brother, Travis Kelce, play in person on Monday evening, is facing some backlash for what he wore on the air on ESPN. Fans appreciated his suit – he rocked a dark suit with a white dress shirt and blue tie – but he was seen wearing white New Balance shoes with it.
Should men be wearing athletic shoes with suits, especially when they’re on TV? Some are saying no.

“TOP WEARING TENNIS SHOES WITH SUITS IM BEGGING YOU,” sports critic Amy Knows Ball shared on X.
NFL fans react to the tennis shoes with suits look
“I hear you, but the one I circled don’t look too bad. But Jason looks hideous 😅 but I guess they do it for comfort!” one fan wrote.
“Far right doesn’t look awful. Kelces does for sure. Guy on the left eh it doesn’t look too bad only because he’s dressed more casual… But not a fan of nikes with full on suits either,” one fan added.
“Those dress kill our feet lol. That’s why you see dudes wearing sneakers. But I do hate it too,” one fan added.
“They do too much walking thats not going to happen i don’t feel. They are definitely going for comfort,” one fan added.
“I’ve been saying this for years since it started happening more often. I think it looks absolutely ridiculous imo. Why even wear a suit if you’re not going to wear nice shoes with it?” one fan added.
What do you make of Kelce’s look?
