Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr explained his experience with the urgency his teammate Joe Burrow brings in training camp.
The Bengals are in for a different experience this training camp, as their star quarterback, Burrow, brings a renewed attitude this upcoming season.
In a recent interview with the NFL Network, Cincinnati’s wide receiver discussed how Burrow's behavior is unlike anything he has seen before.
“I like it, I like it when Joe is pissed, I'm not gonna lie,” Chase said. “I like him when he's like that. Like the fire that he has, you know, I'm saying he don't always bring it out. He maybe did it once or twice since camp started, but I like it, man. Honestly, I love the fire winning when he has it, I love it.”
The five-time Pro Bowler also described the biggest change with the team’s QB1 and how it has made camp have more urgency.
“I want to say his demeanor is just more aggressive,” Chase continued. “His face is more aggressive; the way he talk is more aggressive, and he got like a little mean mug on his face a little bit, so I kind of like when he's like that.”
Chase of the Year winner made it clear that he’s fine with this new approach by the two-time NFL Comeback Player of the Year awardee.
“I don't mind it; that's critical coaching; he's holding me accountable," Chase continued. "I appreciate that. I would do the same to him.”
Cincinnati is looking to make the playoffs for the first time since 2022 and improve its 6-11 record from last season, with Burrow and Chase leading the team’s offense.
