Last year, the Jacksonville Jaguars had one of the more lethal offensive attacks in football, scoring the sixth-most points in the league and ranking 12th in EPA/play on that side of the ball. The problems for the offense stem from its inconsistency, which comes initially from the quarterback, Trevor Lawrence, one of the streakier guys playing the position right now. Last season, Lawrence could rely on his former Clemson Tigers teammate Travis Etienne as a bit of a stabilizing force for him in the backfield. Etienne went back home to the New Orleans Saints. Now, there's a new backfield behind Lawrence this season and, according to Fox Sports, they may be poised for a breakout season in 2026.

When it comes to breakout candidates, the easy answer for the Jaguars is Bhayshul Tuten. Liam Coen has been on the record about his expectations of more from Tuten this season, and the explosive flashes from his rookie season make him a safe bet for an uptick in production. However, Fox Sports' Ralph Vacchiano chose the other Jaguars back, Chris Rodriguez Jr., as the team's breakout candidate. He also recognized how easy it would be to choose Tuten, but essentially tabbed Rodriguez as an underrated piece of the Jaguars offense.
Tuten brings the lightning, Rodriguez brings the thunder; they both combine to build a stable backfield that Lawrence can rely on down in and down out.
