WWE Crown Jewel 2026 is still scheduled to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on November 7, despite growing security concerns following deadly attacks on King Khalid International Airport. However, a new report has revealed that WWE has a backup location in the United States if the company is forced to change its plans.
According to Bryan Alvarez of “Wrestling Observer,” Riyadh remains the intended destination for the premium live event, although an alternative American city is being considered as a contingency. WWE has not publicly announced a relocation or confirmed that it will move Crown Jewel away from Saudi Arabia.
“As of 10 AM ET today, Riyadh is still the plan for Crown Jewel, although there is a backup city in the US that is on the table,” Alvarez noted.
The uncertainty follows a series of attacks claimed by Yemen’s Houthi rebels. The October 10 strike on Riyadh’s airport killed at least 12 people and injured more than 300, according to Saudi authorities. Another attack on October 11 killed one person and injured 11 others, adding to concerns about travel and security in the region.
The US State Department issued a Level 3 travel advisory for Saudi Arabia on October 12, urging Americans to reconsider travel because of the risks associated with drone and missile attacks, armed conflict, and terrorism.
Despite the situation, WWE continued promoting Crown Jewel for Riyadh. Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque shared the event’s promotional poster, and the October 12 episode of RAW featured the announcement of two matches for the show.
What Is WWE’s Backup Plan, and Which Matches Are Confirmed?

Alvarez’s report identifies an undisclosed US city as a potential alternative, but neither WWE nor TKO has publicly named the location. Las Vegas has been mentioned in speculation, but there is no verified report confirming it as WWE’s chosen backup venue. The company has also not announced any change to the November 7 date.
Two matches have been confirmed for Crown Jewel so far:
- Men’s Crown Jewel Championship: World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns vs. WWE Champion Sami Zayn.
- Women’s Crown Jewel Championship: Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan vs. WWE Women’s Champion Chelsea Green.
Both contests follow Crown Jewel’s champion-versus-champion format, with the winners earning the respective Crown Jewel Championships rather than competing to take their opponents’ regular titles.
For now, Riyadh remains the official host city, and WWE is continuing to build the card around that plan. The reported US contingency offers an alternative if circumstances change, but fans will have to wait for an official update before any relocation can be considered confirmed.
