Inter Miami travels to face the Columbus Crew in a crucial MLS fixture with major implications for both Eastern Conference sides.
While Inter Miami is fighting to secure home-field advantage in the playoffs, the Columbus Crew are currently 14th in the standings with 26 points from 26 games and desperately need a positive result.
Kily González’s side, meanwhile, are on a five-match unbeaten run, most recently drawing 2-2 against San Diego, and are currently third in the table behind Nashville and New England.
Is Lionel Messi Playing Tonight?
Despite several players being unavailable because of the international window, Lionel Messi is available for tonight’s fixture and is expected to lead the Herons’ attack.
The 39-year-old has scored 20 goals in 23 appearances for Miami this season. Messi also has 13 assists to his name, showing just how crucial he has been for the club.

While he has the Argentine available, Kily González has to deal with a depleted squad ahead of the fixture, with seven players unavailable due to international call-ups, including key names such as Germán Berterame and Dayne St. Clair.
Despite the absences, Miami still has Rodrigo De Paul, Luis Suárez and Casemiro available tonight.
When Is Lionel Messi’s Last Match for Argentina?
Messi was recently called up to the Argentina squad to feature in an international friendly against Benin on October 6. The Argentine Football Association plans to make it a grand farewell for the 36-year-old and one of the greatest players in soccer history.
Argentina federation president Claudio Tapia had earlier confirmed that the Oct. 6 match will be dedicated to Messi.
“To all Argentina fans, I want to tell you that after a conversation with the national team head coach, Lionel Scaloni, we have decided to invite the best player in the world, our national team emblem, our captain, Lionel Andrés Messi, so he can have the goodbye he truly deserves on Oct. 6 here in Argentina,” Tapia said.
