Senior guard Kylie Feuerbach was understandably emotional after No. 2 seed Iowa fell short to No. 10 seed Virginia in double overtime on Monday.
The Cavaliers upset the Hawkeyes on the road thanks to a 28-point performance from Kymora Johnson. Although the Hawkeyes received great individual efforts from Ava Heiden and Chazadi Wright, it wasn't enough to secure a spot in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.
"We were just so resilient in this game," Virginia coach Amaka Agugua-Hamilton said, via ESPN. "Iowa is a really good team. They're a 2-seed for a reason. No matter what they threw at us, we just did not get rattled. We just believed that we were going to win this game before it even started. Every time they punched, we punched back, stayed poised."

Feuerbach spoke to the media after Iowa's loss to Virginia. As you'd imagine, she's devastated that her college career ended at home.
"It's hard. I've loved every second here. Luckily, I've gotten more time here than the average person with the extra year, so it's been awesome. I'm just grateful. Definitely not something....this can't define my time here," Feuerbach told reporters. "There have been a lot of highs; I'll remember those more than I'll remember these, but these definitely hurt in the moment."
Feuerbach joined Iowa's program in 2021. She averaged 4.4 points and 1.7 assists per game during her run with the Hawkeyes.

Immediately after Feuerbach said goodbye to the Hawkeyes, fans sent her heartwarming messages on social media.
"Breaks my heart to hear her hurting like this," an Iowa fan said. "Really gonna miss seeing her and Hannah play in a Iowa uniform."
"Love love love Kylie. I will miss seeing her," a second fan commented. "Brilliant future ahead for her. She’s extraordinarily beautiful."
"Can never doubt their effort. Sad way to end but very proud of the way the outplayed expectations this year," another fan wrote.
There's no question Feuerbach left her mark on the Iowa community. We wish her all the best as she enters the next chapter of her career.
