Iga Swiatek has spent much of her career under an intense spotlight. The Polish star has won six Grand Slam titles, reached the top of the WTA rankings and established herself as one of the most consistent players of her generation.
Yet, away from the tennis court, Swiatek has always preferred to keep things considerably quieter.
The 25-year-old was born in Warsaw, Poland, and lives in nearby Raszyn. Her journey to the top of women’s tennis has been shaped by her family, particularly her father Tomasz, while her older sister Agata played an important role in getting her started in tennis.
Swiatek’s personal life has also remained remarkably private. From her relationship with her parents and sister to her decision to keep her dating life away from the public eye, there is plenty to know about the six-time Grand Slam champion away from the court.
Who Are Iga Swiatek’s Parents?
Father Tomasz Swiatek
Tomasz Swiatek played an important role in Iga’s development, although his sporting background came from a different discipline. He was a professional rower who represented Poland at the 1988 Seoul Olympics in the men’s quadruple sculls, finishing seventh. He also won a gold medal at the 1987 Universiade.
His experience in rowing influenced the way he approached his daughters’ sporting careers. Tomasz believed individual sports would teach them to take responsibility for both their victories and defeats, rather than depending on teammates.
He was heavily involved in Iga’s development when she was younger, but deliberately stepped away from the technical side of her career as she became a professional. The decision was partly about protecting their relationship as father and daughter.
Tomasz has also explained why he does not always sit in Iga’s player box during tournaments. Watching his daughter compete at the highest level can be difficult for him, and he once explained:
“Watching live is very demanding. Every look or gesture is noticed by Iga.”
Rather than being directly involved in every match, he has preferred to give his daughter the space to build her own professional career.
Mother Dorota Swiatek
Iga’s mother, Dorota Swiatek, has a background in medicine and works as an orthodontist in Poland. She has largely stayed away from the spotlight surrounding her daughter’s tennis career.
Iga’s parents divorced while she was young, and the family dynamic changed significantly after the separation. Dorota has nevertheless spoken with pride about her daughter’s success, emphasizing that the most important thing is that Iga enjoys what she does.
Iga Swiatek’s Sister Agata
Iga’s older sister, Agata Swiatek, was one of the biggest reasons she picked up a tennis racket in the first place.
Born three years before Iga, Agata was also a talented junior tennis player. She competed on the junior circuit until 2013, and the sisters’ relationship helped create a competitive environment at home.
Iga has previously admitted that she initially became interested in tennis because she wanted to follow her sister and, eventually, beat her.
Agata’s playing career was cut short by injuries. She later turned her attention toward academics and followed her mother’s professional path, becoming a practicing orthodontist and dentist.
Despite pursuing completely different careers, the sisters remain close. Agata is one of the people Iga turns to after some of the biggest matches of her career, with the two frequently staying in touch through FaceTime.
Is Iga Swiatek Dating Anyone? Does She Have a Boyfriend?
Iga Swiatek has kept her romantic life almost entirely away from the public eye.
There is no publicly confirmed relationship involving the Polish star, and she has not made a boyfriend part of her public profile. Her focus has largely remained on tennis, training and maintaining the demanding routine required to compete at the highest level.
That privacy is consistent with how Swiatek has approached much of her life away from tennis. While her matches and professional team receive enormous attention, she has generally avoided turning her personal relationships into public stories.
Who Is Iga Swiatek’s Coach?
Swiatek’s coaching team has evolved considerably throughout her career.
She enjoyed a major developmental period under Tomasz Wiktorowski before later working with Wim Fissette. Ahead of the clay-court season, however, Swiatek made another major change, ending her partnership with Fissette and bringing Francisco Roig into her team.
The change has given Swiatek a different perspective on her game, particularly when it comes to constructing points and being more patient from the baseline.
Swiatek explained the difference after beginning her work with Roig:
“With Francis, it’s a completely different vibe because he’s a Spanish coach, so he wants me to be really, really solid from the baseline. Before, I felt like I was rushing a lot of shots. I wanted to win the point in two or three hits, and when the balls were coming back, I was getting frustrated.”

She added: “Francis has taught me to love the grind again. He told me, ‘Iga, you have the physical capacity to run for three hours, so why are you trying to finish the point so fast?’ We’ve been working on shot selection and just building the point with more patience.”
For Swiatek, the changes are designed to make her game more effective across different surfaces, while giving her greater patience during long baseline exchanges.
Daria Abramowicz’s Role in Iga Swiatek’s Team
One of the most recognizable members of Swiatek’s team is sports psychologist Daria Abramowicz.
Abramowicz has been a regular presence around Swiatek throughout her rise to the top of the sport. Swiatek has credited the psychologist with helping her deal with the mental demands of professional tennis and remain composed during difficult matches.
Her team also includes strength and conditioning coach Maciej Ryszczuk and hitting partner Tomek Moczek, who help Swiatek prepare for the physical demands of the WTA Tour.
Iga Swiatek’s Current Ranking and US Open Run
Swiatek enters the second week of the 2026 US Open as the World No. 8 in the WTA singles rankings and the No. 8 seeding the women’s draw.
It has been an eventful season for the Pole. After falling from the very top of the rankings during an inconsistent stretch, Swiatek returned to the winner’s circle in Toronto, capturing her first title of the year and securing her place among the tournament’s top eight seeds.
She now faces Olympic champion and No. 21 seed Qinwen Zheng in a blockbuster fourth-round encounter at Arthur Ashe Stadium.
The match is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. EDT, giving Swiatek another opportunity to show that her latest chapter is about more than simply returning to the top of the rankings.
For all the attention surrounding her career, Swiatek continues to keep the most personal parts of her life relatively quiet. Her family, her team and the people closest to her remain important pieces of the story, but on court, the focus is still firmly on the six-time Grand Slam champion herself.
