During today’s college football game between West Virginia and visiting Cincinnati, an injured player appeared to get even more hurt while riding out of the stadium on the injury cart.
In the second quarter of today’s game, Cincinnati defender Josh Hough suffered an apparent leg injury and had to go onto the cart. Unfortunately, the cart wound up positioned in a way that the West Virginia stadium staffer driving it had to back up.
The cart backed up a little too much though, and appeared to push Hough’s left foot – on the leg he had just injured – right into the wall. Hough reeled in pain and the TNT broadcasters wondered if he injured himself even further from that.
Hough was ultimately ruled out for the remainder of the game.
Fans were shocked.
There were plenty of fans who found the whole situation pretty funny and likened it to that iconic scene of Mike Myers trying to move a cart in the first Austin Powers movie. But for the most part, fans were pretty upset at the staffer and believe he could be in line to get fired or even sued.
“I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a player’s injury get worse because of the injury cart and yet…” Aaron Dickens of Rivals wrote on X.
“Easiest lawsuit win I’ve ever seen,” another user on X declared.
“Bro what are we doing?” wrote a third.
“Oh yeah that guy is fired.”
“Is that Austin Powers driving?!?”

It’s an unfortunate loss of a player for a Cincinnati team that’s currently 4-1, potentially on the cusp of being 5-1, and with a huge home game against Big 12 juggernaut Texas Tech that could elevate them from unranked team into conference title contender.
The game is being played on TNT.
