Some IndyCar fans did not appreciate Danica Patrick’s appearance and comments on the Freedom 250 Grand Prix pre-race show on Sunday.
Patrick, 45, a formerly IndyCar and NASCAR star, was a big part of FOX’s pre-race show on Sunday morning.
“Special, expanded prerace coverage begins at 11:30 AM ET on FOX and FOX One. Four-time INDIANAPOLIS 500 champion Helio Castroneves and former INDYCAR driver Danica Patrick, the most successful woman in open-wheel racing history and the highest-finishing female in the INDIANAPOLIS 500, join Emmy Award-winning host Chris Myers, for a special 90-minute prerace show that will delve into the day’s landmark event while honoring all four branches of the United States military,” FOX announced.
“Acclaimed FOX Sports reporter and renowned storyteller Tom Rinaldi, winner of 17 national Sports Emmy Awards and seven national Edward R. Murrow Awards, offers special features and interviews live from Washington.”

Patrick had high praise for President Trump and the United States of America live on the air on Sunday.
“I have goosebumps already from that flyover, seeing the stealth (aircraft) go by; always love seeing the stealth. But that’s just icing on the cake,” said Danica.
“Washington, D.C., is one of the most beautiful cities.”
She had a special shoutout for President Trump.
“Between the vision of (FOX CEO) Eric Shanks and (Penske Corporation President) Bud Denker, with the help of, of course, Secretary Duffy and President Donald Trump with that executive order, I think it really embodies what it is to live in America, land of the free, and anything is possible.
“That this race was gone from concept to reality as quickly as it was, and as well as it’s been done, I think that is the perfect embodiment and celebration of 250 years of this country.”
Fans ‘grossed out’ by her appearance
“To watch Danica Patrick and the whole Fox crew verbally felate [sic] Trump ,is nauseating,” one fan wrote.
“Grossed out by this,” one fan added.
“Nothing worse about an Indy Car broadcast than hearing Danica Patrick. So many more well accomplished, deserving drivers with higher accolades, and this is who they chose to fill in that slot,” one fan added.
“I’m a girls girl and I hate Pat McAfee, but good lawd does Danica Patrick give that man a run for his money as worst sports commentator ever,” one fan added.
Patrick was just a part of the pre-race coverage, so fans don’t have to deal with her during the race, but many are still upset.
