Caitlin Clark has been the Indiana Fever's best player this season. She's averaging 21.2 points, 4.0 rebounds and 8.2 assists per game, ranking third in the WNBA in scoring and second in assists.
Unfortunately, Clark has missed the Fever's last two games due to a back issue. She sustained the health setback during their June 24 showdown with the Phoenix Mercury, in which she left during the third quarter and did not return.
Despite Clark's absence, the Fever have beaten both the Los Angeles Sparks and Las Vegas Aces, improving to 12-8 on the season. The team is now sixth in the WNBA standings, well in contention for a playoff spot.

Is Caitlin Clark Playing in Fever vs. Sparks?
As the Fever prepare to play the Sparks again on Wednesday, there are naturally questions about Clark's availability.
The Fever have yet to submit their injury report for the game, but Clark herself shared a positive updates about her status.
Speaking to reporters during Tuesday's practice, the All-Star guard said that she's "very hopeful" she'll play against the Sparks, per Scott Agness of FieldHouse Files.
Clark also joined her teammates during their latest practice, indicating that she's trending in the right direction.
Clark has been dealing with a lingering back injury since the beginning of the season, so it's not surprising that the Fever have been cautious about her recovery.
Thanks to their schedule, which gave the Fever a week-long break before their meeting with the Aces, Clark had plenty of rest without missing too many games.
