Indiana Fever veteran Tyasha Harris spoke to the press on Thursday as the team continues to prepare for Thursday’s home matchup against the Connecticut Sun.
During her media availability session, the seventh-year guard was asked about the Fever’s plans during the upcoming WNBA break for the FIBA Women’s World Cup. Harris shared head coach Stephanie White’s instructions as she prepares to leave the U.S.
White is part of Team USA’s coaching staff. She will join Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston on the national squad as they head to Berlin, Germany, for the World Cup tournament, which will be held from Aug. 27 to Sept. 12.
The WNBA will be on a three-week hiatus for the World Cup, from Aug. 31 to Sept. 16. Friday’s matchup against Connecticut will be Indiana’s final game before the break

Harris shared the Fever’s plans for the extended mid-season break, including White’s message for the players.
“Over the break, we’ll be practicing and waiting for [Clark and Boston] to come back,” Harris said. “Coach said that she wants our fist so tight that when they come back, they make it even tighter, like Thanos.”
White also revealed her plans for the team while she’s on international duty. She will leave assistant coaches Briann January and Austin Kelly in charge.
For now, however, the Fever are completely focused on the task at hand. They are looking to make it two wins in a row on Friday against the Sun. Tipoff from Gainbridge Fieldhouse is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.
