The Indiana Fever stepped up big time to tie their first-round series with the Las Vegas Aces in the WNBA playoffs. Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston led the way for Indiana in Game 2, as the three combined for 75 of the team’s 99 points to secure the victory.
Clark was the Fever’s top scorer in the 99-89 win with 27 points. She also recorded seven rebounds and 15 assists, becoming the first player in history to record at least 25 points and 15 assists in a postseason game.
Mitchell, meanwhile, scored 26 points on 7-of-16 shooting. She was also 3-of-4 from deep, while recording one block.
Boston, for her part, finished with 22 points, four rebounds, five assists, one steal and one block. She had the second-best plus-minus rating on the team at +13, behind only Clark’s +15.

With their incredible showing, Clark, Boston and Mitchell also made history in the process. According to the Fever, it’s the first time in franchise history that a trio has scored at least 20 points each. The team also noted that the feat has been accomplished only 20 other times in the postseason in WNBA history.
Thanks to the Fever Big 3, Indiana also set a new franchise record for the most points in the paint in a playoff game with 58 points. The previous record of 52 was set in 2009.
The Fever will need Clark, Boston and Mitchell to be at their best again in Game 3 if they want to take down the defending WNBA champions and move on to the semifinals. Sure enough, though, their Game 2 display should raise optimism about their chances.
