Indiana Fever guard Kelsey Mitchell has been one of the driving forces behind the team’s offense throughout the 2026 season. She enters Thursday’s matchup against the Las Vegas Aces playing some of the best basketball of her career, averaging 24.0 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 30 games.
Mitchell ranks second in the WNBA in scoring behind A’ja Wilson’s 26.6 points per game. She has also become one of the league’s most efficient perimeter scorers. She ranks fifth in three-point percentage (43.8%), while Fever teammates Sophie Cunningham (45.2%) and Aliyah Boston (44.4%) also sit among the WNBA’s top five.
Her play has kept her firmly in the MVP conversation and she is one of the reasons Indiana remains in the hunt for home-court advantage in the playoffs.

The WNBA recognized Mitchell’s recent run on Wednesday, naming her the Eastern Conference Player of the Month for July after she averaged 27.2 points, 2.8 assists and 1.2 steals. A’ja Wilson received the Western Conference honor.
The Fever shared the news on social media, celebrating their All-Star guard for achieving another milestone this season.
Mitchell has already started the month of August in top form. In her most recent outing, she scored a season-high 37 points during Indiana’s loss to the Minnesota Lynx on Sunday. It continued a stretch in which she has consistently delivered against some of the league’s top teams.
Mitchell will have another chance to strengthen her MVP case Thursday when the Fever host the Aces, hoping to close the two-game gap on second-place Las Vegas in the WNBA standings.
