The Indiana Fever will look to end a two-game losing streak when they face the Chicago Sky on Sunday in the second night of a back-to-back. Indiana fell to the New York Liberty 109-102 on Saturday, dropping to 24-14 and fifth in the WNBA standings with six regular-season games remaining. The Fever had previously lost to the Dallas Wings on Thursday.
Caitlin Clark did everything she could to keep Indiana in the game against New York, finishing with 21 points, seven rebounds and four assists in 35 minutes. However, her effort was not enough as the Liberty pulled away late. Clark had entered Saturday’s game listed as probable with a back injury, a designation she has carried throughout the season.

Now, head coach Stephanie White will have a decision to make regarding how she utilizes Clark and the rest of her rotation against Chicago. It remains to be seen whether the three-time All-Star will play Sunday or receive fewer minutes than the 35 she logged against New York.
Clark has played in only three of Indiana’s seven back-to-backs this season, making her availability for the second game particularly important as the Fever continue managing her workload.
Indiana has been vocal about managing Clark’s workload throughout the season, particularly after she returned from her back injury in July. White previously used a minutes restriction when Clark returned, and Clark sat out the second game of that back-to-back.
The Fever also have reason to remain cautious after Clark’s 2025 season ended prematurely. A right groin injury ultimately ruled her out for the remainder of last season after she appeared in only 13 games.
With the playoffs approaching, Indiana will not want a repeat of that experience. Fingers will be crossed on White’s decision as the Fever try to balance Clark’s availability with her long-term health.
