Kelsey Mitchell was cleared to play for the Indiana Fever against the Dallas Wings on Thursday after being listed as probable with an illness. She wasted no time making an impact, scoring 21 points before halftime as Indiana battled Dallas to a tie at the break. Mitchell entered the game averaging 24.3 points, 1.7 rebounds and 2.6 assists while shooting 50.7% from the field and 44.3% from 3-point range.
Mitchell’s 21-point first half also extended her remarkable scoring streak. She had scored at least 20 points in 20 consecutive games entering Thursday, matching A’ja Wilson’s WNBA record, but her first-half performance against Dallas moved her past the Las Vegas Aces forward for the longest such streak in league history.

But that was not the only piece of history she made. The Fever announced another milestone for Mitchell during the game. She broke her own Indiana franchise record for points in a single season, reaching 891 points and counting in just 37 games.
The mark adds to a season that has already included an All-Star selection and has Mitchell sitting second in the WNBA in scoring while ranking among the league’s most accurate 3-point shooters.
Those numbers strengthen Mitchell’s case alongside in the Fever’s MVP conversation. Alongside Caitlin Clark, Mitchell is having a career year as a high-volume scorer without sacrificing efficiency.
The Fever and Wings entered halftime tied at 42, with Indiana looking to clinch the regular season series after beating the Wings 98-87 last Friday.
