Aliyah Boston missed the Indiana Fever's 110-107 win against the Seattle Storm on Friday due to a lower right leg injury. Since the contest was the first of a back-to-back, there were naturally concerns about her availability against the New York Liberty on Saturday.
Boston is averaging 17.2 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.2 blocks per game. She has been sensational for the Fever this season, with her major improvement in 3-point shooting making Indiana an even bigger offensive threat.
The All-Star center leads the league in 3-point shooting percentage at 46.8%. She makes 1.3 triples on 2.8 attempts per game. Prior to this season, Boston had never averaged more than one 3-pointer per outing in her career.
That being said, Boston is certainly an important piece for Indiana, both on offense and defense. As fans saw against the Storm, the Fever struggled defensively without Boston.

Is Aliyah Boston Playing Today in Fever vs. Liberty?
The Fever initially listed Boston as questionable against the Liberty due to her injury. Fortunately, the team upgraded her status to available about an hour before tipoff.
Since the Liberty have two elite bigs in Breanna Stewart and Jonquel Jones, Boston's presence will certainly be crucial in Indiana's attempt to win a second straight game.
Makayla Timpson started for the Fever against the Storm in Boston's absence. With the 24-year-old forward-center back, Timpson returns to the bench. However, she is still expected to have a bigger role for Indiana, especially as the team manages Boston's workload.
In more good news for the Fever, Caitlin Clark has also been upgraded to available after being listed as probable due to her back injury.
