Caitlin Clark just made her case for MVP stronger after Friday night’s performance against Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings. The Indiana Fever star delivered when her team needed her most, scoring 16 of her total points in the third quarter as Indiana rallied from a halftime deficit and eventually pulled away for a 98-87 victory.
Clark finished with 29 points, 10 assists and three rebounds, shooting 11-of-18 from the field and converting two attempts from 3-point range. She was especially effective after halftime, helping the Fever turn the game around alongside Aliyah Boston, who scored 10 of her 16 points in the fourth quarter. Kelsey Mitchell added 23 points as Indiana won its third straight game.

Clark’s performance came with another milestone attached. The Fever announced after the game that the three-time All-Star recorded the 20th game of her career with at least 20 points and 10 assists, adding that no other player in WNBA history has more than 10 such games.
The feat is particularly impressive because Clark is only in her third WNBA season. She has continued to build one of the league’s most productive individual résumés while establishing herself as arguably the best playmaker. Friday also marked her 13th career game with at least 25 points and 10 assists, another WNBA record.
Clark currently leads the league in assists at 8.3 per game while ranking third in scoring at 21.9 points per game. Friday’s double-double was also her 11th of the season, the most among guards in the WNBA this year.
The win pushed Indiana to 22-12, giving the Fever their eighth victory in their last 10 games and a half-game lead over Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream for fourth place in the playoff standings.
With the postseason approaching, Clark is giving Indiana a valid reason to believe it can make a serious run. Friday’s performance was another reminder of just how much the Fever can get from their star when it matters the most.
