Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark now owns the franchise record for the most assists in a playoff game.
In Game 1 of the Fever’s WNBA playoff series against the Las Vegas Aces, Clark dished out 10 assists, one shy of tying Tamika Catchings’ single-game assist record of 11 for Indiana. The franchise icon set the record in 2009 during the WNBA Finals against the Phoenix Mercury.
Come Game 2, however, Clark didn’t waste time and tied Catchings’ record in the first half. She even made history by becoming the first player to tally a points-assists double-double in a half in the postseason.
Clark went on to break the single-game assist record for the Fever and set a new mark with 15 total assists. It’s also the third-most in a game in WNBA playoff history, behind only Courtney Vandersloot (18 assists in 2021) and Sue Bird (16 assists in 2020).

Most importantly for Clark and the Fever, however, they beat the Aces 99-89 to tie the series at 1-1 and force a do-or-die Game 3.
Aside from her assist tally, Clark recorded 27 points on 9-of-18 shooting to lead Indiana to victory. She also grabbed seven rebounds, although she eventually fouled out with under three minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.
Kelsey Mitchell added 26 points to help Indiana, while Aliyah Boston finished with 22 points, four rebounds and five assists.
Game 3 of the Fever-Aces series is scheduled for Thursday at Michelob ULTRA Arena. Sure enough, it will be interesting to see if Clark can replicate her dominant offensive performance.
