Lexie Hull and Sophie Cunningham have helped the Indiana Fever to a 26-14 record on the 2026 season, entering the WNBA break with a 111-91 win over the Connecticut Sun. Now, sitting in fifth place in the league standings, the Fever have just four games remaining until the WNBA Playoffs begin.
Hull hasn’t quite lived up to the standards she set during the 2025 season, when she averaged 7.2 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. In 2026, the former Stanford guard is averaging 5.4 points on 43.5% shooting, 3.1 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game.
And Hull has seen those struggles increase after WNBA All-Star Weekend, recording zero points in three games in the month of August, and five since July.

Still, despite her struggles, Hull has remained in coach Stephanie White’s starting lineup, starting in 37 games of the Fever’s 40 games this season. Cunningham opened the season as the starting guard alongside Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell for Indiana’s first three games before Hull took over.
Hull has remained a staple of White’s offense throughout the year, and leaving her in the starting lineup will help keep the chemistry the starters have built. Not to forget the offensive threat Hull has the potential to be, if she can break out of the slump.
But with Cunningham having a better season at this point, some may be thinking it’s time for Indiana to reinsert the former Missouri guard into the starting lineup in place of Hull. Cunningham is averaging 8.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists, playing 22.7 minutes per game compared to Hull’s 19.2.
Despite a potential decision on the starting lineup coach White might face, the Fever can’t really go wrong with either Hull or Cunningham. Both have proven to be key contributors for Indiana over the last two seasons.
