Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White is also facing disciplinary action from the WNBA following the team's eventful showdown against the Chicago Sky on Sunday. Sure enough, she's not too happy about that development.
To recall, White was assessed a technical foul after she came to Caitlin Clark's defense when the Fever star was hit with a tech. Late in the third quarter of the game, the All-Star guard accidentally made contact with a referee after stumbling to the sideline while attacking the basket.
The referee apparently felt that Clark purposely ran into her, which the Fever playmaker denied.
Regardless, the call on Clark absolutely infuriated White, so much so that she cursed at the official, as she revealed in her postgame press conference.

When asked if the reason for her technical foul was her argument with the referee, White shared that it was because of the choice words she used during the heated moment.
"My tech was for saying 'That's [expletive]' even though I heard the F-bomb the whole [expletive] game, my tech was for saying 'That's [expletive]."
White proceeded to emphasize how "bad" the call on Clark was, adding that the rest of the officiating crew should have talked about it.
"Officials have to have some awareness in those moments and it didn't happen," White added.
For what it's worth, the tech on Clark has been rescinded by the WNBA, allowing the 24-year-old star to avoid suspension. According to the league's rules, a player's eighth tech carries a $1,500 fine and a one-game suspension.
However, White's tech is a different situation and has not been rescinded, so she's due to pay a $500 fine as a result.
